This is a PodCast on the Forgotten Initiative

When you’re connected to the heart of God, you’ll never be surprised at the doors He opens, the favor He grants, and the resources He provides.
There are moments in life that change us forever. Pastor Tony Karnes was simply trying to prepare for a sermon series, but God had greater things in store for him AND for hundreds of kids and families in his community. Tony’s journey of faith will inspire and challenge you!

TAKEAWAYS FROM TODAY’S SHOW

Take the first step.

Doors do not always open right away, that is normal. Don’t let that discourage you. Seek to understand those you desire to support. Ask if you can meet with people who are close to the need and when the opportunity presents itself, come to the table with humility and a desire to learn. As you learn of the needs, dream big. Tony, reminds us to imagine the impossible and see what God does. Align yourself with the heart of God; He will lead you.

Bring others along.

Supporting the foster care community is an effort that takes multiple people. Pastors, how does God want you to lead your church in this effort? Lay leaders, what is your role? Churches, how might you network with other churches in your community? Seek Him. Ask for the wisdom that comes only from God. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it!

Walk in faith.

You don’t have to know the end to keep walking forward. If we knew all the answers, faith wouldn’t be necessary. Our God will do more than we can imagine if we ask Him and follow Him in obedience. Tony says it so well: “God is very willing to do supernatural things on behalf of children in need.” The path forward may be uncharted territory, but when you stay close to the heart of God, “it is never surprising to see the doors He opens and the favors He grants.”
